OVER THE YEARS,
I HAVE TRIED
MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO TIP SHELTIE EARS
IF THEY DIDN'T SHOW SIGNS OF
TIPPING ON THEIR OWN;
ONLY IF YOU ARE REAL FORTUNATE
WILL THEY TIP ON THEIR OWN.
BUT WHY THE FUSS OVER SHELTIE EARS
YOU SEE, TIPPED SHELTIE EARS
ENHANCE THEIR BEAUTY
WHEREAS PRICKED EARS
MAKE THEM LOOK LESS ELEGANT
SOME SHELTIE OWNERS
JUST ACCEPT WHATEVER THAT COMES ALONG
TIPPED OF PRICKED,
THEY LOVE THEIR CANINE COMPANIONS ALL THE SAME.
IN DOG CONFORMATION SHOWS,
PRICKED EARS ARE NOT PENALIZED
BUT TIPPED EARS ARE GREATLY PREFERRED,
MANY A TIME
I HAVE SEEN DOG SHOW JUDGES FOLDING THE EARS
AS IF TO CONVEY THE MESSAGE TO THE SHELTIE EXHIBITORS
"SEE TIPPED EARS WOULD HAVE MADE THEM LOOK MUCH BETTER....."
HERE ARE SEVERAL VIDEO CLIPS ON EAR TAPING
THAT I FOUND IN YOUTUBE
SEE HOW PEOPLE GO THROUGH THE PAIN AND PATIENCE
TO SET SHELTIE / COLLIE EARS...
(THANKS TO THE OWNERS OF THESE VIDEO CLIPS)
I am currently experimenting this method on Snowy,
seems to be working...
AND WHEN THE SHELTIE IS A LITTLE OLDER
LIKE 6 MONTHS PLUS OR SO;
GLUE BOTH EARS TO MAKE THEM STAND CLOSER TO EACH OTHER...
I have yet to try this method...
This method seems more or less the same
as the one below with different materials...
I first started with THIS method
when I got my shelties from South Korea;
this was how the breeder there taught me...
Found it rather a fuss and did not work well for me...
